Using pure Bilona A2 ghee makes a visible difference in both taste and texture.
Drain water and grind it into a coarse paste (do not add water).
🔶 Step 2: Roast in Ghee
Heat ½ cup A2 ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan.
Add moong dal paste and roast on medium-low flame for 20–25 minutes.
Keep stirring continuously. The dal will absorb the ghee and become aromatic and golden.
In a separate pot, heat 2 cups milk + 1 cup water and bring it to a boil.
Slowly pour the hot liquid into the roasted dal.
Stir continuously to avoid lumps.
🔶 Step 4: Add Sugar and Flavoring
Add ¾ cup sugar and stir till it dissolves.
Mix in cardamom powder and saffron milk.
Cook until ghee starts releasing from the sides and halwa becomes glossy.
🔶 Step 5: Garnish and Serve
Garnish with chopped nuts roasted in a spoon of ghee.
Serve warm.
Pair with a spoon of fresh A2 ghee drizzled on top
Offer as prasad in temples or home puja
